RICHMOND mailing list at RootsWeb.com, a lady from California
contacted me to tell me her
GG Grandfather had a sister that moved to Lockport, NY and married a lawyer. They lived in Lockport until the late 1800's.
Well, a couple of months ago, I was at Grace Episcopal Church in Lockport digging through their old records. I found some interesting stuff. Including info on Alexander's mother Elizabeth Richmond RETTALICK and her second husband William RETTALICK and info that
his first wife died in 1846. (more on this later)
Well, getting back to the story...I found familiar last names that I did not know if these were related or not. So I took down information and pictures of anything that I might want later. One of those names, Lucretia Richmond ELY and three children. To make a long story short, I was able to send this lady the baptism record of her GG Aunt along with those records of her three children! It also explained who this other RICHMOND was that I otherwise would know little about!
I thought that was pretty neat!
